Diamond Eye Jack

Diamond Eye Jack

Diamond Eye Jack celebrates the music and community of the Grateful Dead, bringing the energy of the 1970s-era Grateful Dead and JRAD to the entire catalogue of Dead, Jerry Garcia Band and all the blues, rock, country and R&B cover songs played by the bands throughout their careers. Crowds are gathering from across New Jersey and Pennsylvania to hear the band's unique performances, led by lead guitarist Luke Youngman, who masterfully evokes the pure essence and tone of Jerry Garcia. This talented band's ability to recreate that unique feeling of being at a Grateful Dead concert through their improvisational set lists, exploratory jams, crisp harmonies, and powerful rhythm section is something that all Dead Heads and live music fans should experience. At many of their shows, you can often shop at the "Shakedown Street" vendors that follow the band. Each show is unique, but one constant is the fun the band is having on stage playing the music of this iconic band and making it their own.

Jimmy Leahey & Grey Man Group

Jimmy Leahy started playing guitar at age 7, learning from his dad, Harry... a well-known jazz player and a prolific teacher in New Jersey. Jimmy’s toured and recorded with John Waite, Patty Smyth, Martha Davis, Gloria Gaynor, Alison Krauss and has just retired from playing with Dennis DeYoung, from Styx

One of the most optimistic and genuine guys you’ll meet, Jimmy talks about the incredible positive influence his dad had on him, and also the pressure he often felt being “Harry’s son”... a great story about the best gig he had, playing as part of the house band for Bon Jovi’s birthday party - playing alongside Roger Waters, Billy Joel, and Paul McCartney…

Califon Hellbenders

Califon Hellbenders

The Califon Hellbenders are middle aged guys in a band, built for fun, not speed, who love playing for our friends and neighbors and celebrating our community. What is a Hellbender? Simply put, it is a type of salamander found in the eastern United States. But the reason for this name is not just our love of regional amphibians, but rather that word just sounds like pure Rock & Roll, with an easygoing vibe that suits our persona. We describe our style as “good time folk-a-billy jam pop dance party rock”, with unconventional instrumentation that weaves together the acoustic and electric, old timey and modern, with a pulsating undercurrent of tasty banjo ever-present. And it suggests a certain bendy looseness of musical interpretation inherent in our exploration of favorite tunes from across pretty much any genre, with a particular soft

spot for ‘80s rock & pop, ballads, B-side classic rock, Grateful Dead, and Kenny Loggins. Mostly from the fair borough of Califon (Jason Beard, Brian Goad, and Dan Hemberger), with imported bass and vocal skills via Pat Walsh from Lawrenceville. We play what we like, which given our collective 200 years’+ of living experience, can cover a lot of ground. The Hellbenders try to give people a reason to get their bodies moving, but are also known to explore the soft underbelly of music across these genres. You’ve heard a lot of these tunes, and we’re guessing there are some you have not. Even if you have, you may not recognize them at first. Have fun with it! All we promise is a really good time.

“BRIAN MOLNAR & THE Naked Hearts/Of the Fall: These Brooklyn cowboys should make Jack Elliot proud as they continue to push the boundaries of Americana in sound and spirit beyond what has become an ossification too frequent in the form. Fusing, pop, country, folk and concise lyrics that hit hard and fast tied together with Arlo Guthrie inspired vocals, this is grand folk music for now times. Put it this way, if you play this in the car, you might find yourself hitting the eject button less often than you think when the 11 tracks have run their course. Well done. ” - Chris Spector

Charlie Don't Surf
Apr
13

Charlie Don't Surf

Charlie Don’t Surf was created by Jeff and Pete, long time partners in Mobius Strip.  Wanting to create funky, earthy jam music they searched for a drummer and the right one found them.  Or more appropriately, they found each other.

Andrew, delivering a keg to their studio, admired the vintage “half stacks” and conversation led to a jam, the musical connection immediate.  Looking for the right bass player to bring it home found Christian, a jazzy, funky player, the unit complete.

Charlie Don’t Surf covers funky songs and if a choice is not funky the band funks it up. Charlie “does the song” but “does it our way.” Jamming, flipping the beat around, “pushing the one” is what the band is about.

All write songs but Charlie Don’t Surf is an “original cover band” that covers the song but makes it their own, creatively satisfying for them and their audience.
