All right, heads. We’ve been cooking up something for you, and it’s time to let you in on it.

You know how much we love giving great musicians the freedom to make things happen at The Patt. So we got to thinking: what happens if we take the Hand Picked concept, throw some tie-dye on it, add a little patchouli, and let a few of our favorite players get weird with it?

Meet “& phriends,” a curated jam band experience coming to The Pattenburg House the last Sunday of every month at 4pm, starting in 2027.

Leading the charge are three players with serious roots in New Jersey’s jam band community: Tim McDonald, bassist for This Old Engine; Glen Mulligan of This Old Engine and Camelwalk; and Luke Youngman of Diamond Eye Jack. Between their Grateful Dead and Phish pedigrees and a Rolodex full of incredible musicians, these guys have plenty of places to take us.

The idea is simple: put the music in their hands, let them bring their friends, and give them room to explore. Different players, unexpected combinations, and the freedom to follow a jam wherever it wants to go. A monthly gathering for the community that loves every minute of that ride.

And we’re too excited to wait until January.

Friday, October 9, we’re giving “& phriends” its first outing at The Patt. $15 cover. Music starts at 8pm and ends whenever they decide they’re finished.

We’ve got a whole lot of faith in these three, and we can’t wait to hear what they build together. We do have one small request, though:

Help > Hydrogen > Franklin’s Tower.

Just putting that into the universe.
